Story
Every year, I watch the runners crossing the finish line at the London Marathon from the comfort of my sofa, and every year, I get a bit emotional watching their relief and sense of achievement. Last year, however, I'd had a couple of pints whilst I was watching it, and my admiration turned into bravado... I decided to apply for a charity spot, thinking that of the millions of people who applied, there's no way I would get a spot. I could get the satisfaction of being able to think, "At least I tried!" without the pain of actually having to run...
The plan was fool-proof... until I received a phone call from the MS Society, telling me I'd been awarded a place! I realised I'd forgotten to think about the consequences on the off-chance that I'd actually be selected!! And so, here I am, saying words I never thought I would say... "I'm going to run the London Marathon."
This is huge for me, the woman who can't run 5K without keeling over 😂 So please, if you're able to, I would love your donations, as the only thing that can get me into running shoes is the thought of supporting the wonderful work done by the MS Society. MS is a cruel disease, and if me being a bit less lazy for a few months means I can help them with their research towards treatment and cures... I'm all in. Appreciate you sharing this far and wide in order to raise as much money as we can. Thank you!!
