We raise money for sick & disabled children to improve the quality of their lives.

Story

Reggie the Bear is cycling across France with his three friends Joe, Justin and Shane, to try and raise as much money as they can for the Dorset Children’s Foundation (DCF).

We set off on the 29th September, a trip totalling over 1000 miles from St Malo to Nice over 16 days, cycling through French countryside and over some challenging terrain. It has taken two years in planning and continuous training, but we are now well and truly fit for the challenge.

The whole event will be on Facebook and Instagram and centred around a teddy bear called Reggie, who is the cousin of the charity mascot, Dorsey - and the children love him! So please follow “Reggie’s Big Adventure” to see how he gets on, as he will be checking in regularly with his antics along the way.

Our aim is to raise in excess of £12,500! so please donate whatever you can, all amounts are welcome, whether small or large and will go a long way in making a difference.

Our trip is entirely self-funded, so 100% of the money raised will go directly to the charity to support a local disabled child. The charity’s overheads are also covered by their shops and online sales.

The DCF is a wonderful independent charity, striving to enhance the lives of families with disabled children by:

  • Funding disability equipment, medical expenses and therapies and a range of children’s support groups and clubs.
  • Providing a large range of sports and play opportunities.
  • Granting life enriching experiences.
  • Providing counselling, cost free.
  • Running stay and play pre-school sessions that all bring families together.
  • Offering advocacy and advice for families.
  • Staging disability education workshops.
  • Campaigning for the rights of families with disabled children.

Covid has hit charities hard and the DCF is no exception, so we thought they needed some additional help.
