Story
Written by Regan's mummy.
Okay, so there's two sides to this story - Regan's and mine.
Regan wanted to do something for charity the way I did on Saturday 7th July. We found the big fun run which seemed perfect for Regan and also meant his little sister could join in & then we chose a charity.
My story? Well, Regan doesnt know what Autism is. He also doesn't know that he has Autism (Pathological demand avoidance) It's never been the right time to tell him because he wouldn't have understood. It wasn't until one of his friends brought it up with him that we realised we had to tell him sooner rather than later but still, his understanding isn't there.
Him raising money for this charity is our way of helping him understand. He's learning about the people he's supporting and as the money hes raising is increasing, he's getting more excited and more overwhelmed about helping these people with Autism, helping these special people and when the time is right, we can tell him that he's one of those special, unique, kind, caring and different people.
Hopefully by the end of this, finding out he also has autism is something he can celebrate instead of being confused by.
I'm so proud of him. We're only 2 days into this journey but the difference in his knowledge on the matter is crazy. Yesterday he couldn't even say Autistic.
Regan is so excited to be doing this so thankyou, to everyone that's donated and to the people that's shared it to raise awareness of his and kennedy's fundraising. We couldn't be more grateful.
