To get dressed up or stay in your pyjamas? That is the question…
As most of us are now working from home, we've been trying to think of some new ways to boost our team morale here at Reed, as well as encourage social interaction and drive productivity. More importantly, we wanted to create an event that allowed us to show our support and raise as much money as possible for our incredible NHS and key workers.
Days can quickly become a blur with no real distinction between Monday and Friday, or work and relaxing. It can be a REALLY long day, especially for those who are working alone, so having a set weekly event such as Dress Up Friday is also really valuable in supporting our mental health and wellbeing.
Here at Reed, we are normally in favour of doing a ‘Dress down Friday’ to allow us a bit of comfort and informality in the office each week, but now we are adopting a 'Wear Your Happy - Dress Up Friday’ and will all be donating each week to show our support for the NHS.
I’d also like to extend this invite to you - feel free to join us! It would be great to get as many people involved as possible and we will also be showcasing our 'working from home outfit(s) of the day' each week on Linkedin!
Of course, ‘dressing up’ or 'wearing your happy' can be whatever you want it to be - as simple as taming your hair, putting on some make up, or you can go all out and wear something absolutely fabulous / ridiculous, super glam / EXTRA!
Why is 'Dressing Up' so important?
- It’s really helpful for those who are maybe feeling a bit overwhelmed or experiencing low mood at the moment.
- It can boost productivity and gets us in a 'motivated' and 'task-focused' mindset.
- ‘Look good, feel good’ - our clothes impact our behaviour!
- It creates a sense of structure and helps us to set boundaries in our day-to-day.
We would be delighted for you to join our fashion efforts on Dress Up Friday and help us raise as much money as possible for our amazing NHS!
