Story

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 17 March and we're joining schools up and down the nation to show that laughter has the power to change lives.

Comic Relief assists a diverse range of charities both in the UK and worldwide. As a school we will be focusing on children's mental health and how our friends can help us.

We all have mental health, just like we all have physical health. It's about how we think, feel and act. Sometimes we feel well, and sometimes we don't. When our mental health is good, we feel motivated and able to take on new challenges and new experiences. But when our mental health is not so good, we can find it much harder to cope. Using the medium of song we want to show it's okay to ask for help and that our friends, teachers, parents can be there to support us.

The whole school from Pre Prep to Year 6 (along with the possibility of some teachers too) will participate in singing the chorus to an original song written specifically for this cause by our talented singing teacher Heidi Boualili. An accompanying video featuring Alleyn Court pupils will show how laughter can raise our spirits.

We will be releasing the music video at a screening for parents, carers and friends on the 6th March 2023 in the Sports Hall. The video will run on a loop so parents/carer's can pop in. Please come and support us. Pupils will have the opportunity to purchase (with accompanying parents/carers permission) treats. Please remember your £1 coins. A preview will be shown to the students during their morning assembly.

Many competitions will run in conjunction including naming the song and artwork for the video link (a winner per year group).

In addition Wear Red to Impress non uniform Day will be held on the 17th March.

However much you can spare, your donation will make a difference to people here in the UK and around the world. Whilst we want to raise money we also feel that the message as much importance.

Don't forget to tick the Gift Aid option, if you can, so Comic Relief can claim an extra 25% from the government.

From us and everyone at Comic Relief, thank you. You're wonderful.
