Story
This year I am taking part in RED (Run Every Day) January to raise money for Suffolk Mind. Yes, that's 31 runs throughout January!
As one of WTW's Mental Health First Aid Champions, raising awareness of mental health and the benefits associated to exercising are really important to me. Modern jobs are often stationary, involving sitting for long periods of time. Couple that with the pressures of deadlines and management, along with looking at a computer screen for hours on end and you can start to see how getting away from your desk and getting your body moving would be a great thing.
Linking to this, Suffolk Mind is the Insurance Institute of Ipswich, Suffolk & North Essex's Presidential Charity this year. Our President Richard Brame is also taking on this challenge and as his Deputy, it's only right I support him in this!
Training started in the run-up to 2019 (pun intended) and I can tell you I am not looking forward to the cold, dark, miserable weather. If you happen to still be reading this then thank you. Thank you for reading & supporting positive mental health. You don't have to run every day but if you can think about getting outside and enjoying some fresh air I think you'll be surprised at what a difference it makes.
