Story
Hey Folks! This January I’m taking on the massive task of walking 10,000 steps a day, every day of the month, to raise money for Mind in Bradford.
I currently walk less then 3,000 steps a day on average, so it’s gonna be pretty grueling, but I am super motivated to do what I can to help.
Managing young people’s mental health services for the last 3 years has been a truly eye-opening and heartbreaking experience. The severity and prevalence of mental ill health, self-harm and suicidal ideation among our children paired with chronic under-funding of mental health services and 12 month + waiting lists for specialist support paints a bleak picture. Yet hope is not lost. Organisations like Mind in Bradford deliver life-changing support to thousands of people every year and I am so motivated to help them make more of a difference.
This January, the RED community will be challenging themselves to get active every day. Whether running, swimming, cycling or choosing a favourite fitness activity, REDers will be going the extra mile to support themselves and others.
Their fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will help continue Mind in Bradford’s life-changing work, ensuring no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
Thank you.
