Story

At 09:00am on Thursday 11th May, Rebel Radio will be starting an extraordinary broadcast that will run non-stop until 11:00am on Saturday 13th May; that’s 50 solid hours of radio! As part of this, you can find us broadcasting live from Square Three on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes, indulging in a spot of murder with a live murder mystery, and so much more! There will be some bleary eyes amongst our presenters as they take on the challenge of broadcasting in the middle of the night for the very first time. We’ve also heard rumours that Derbysaur might make an appearance…

But it’s not just radio. We will have special articles and videos at rebelessex.com as part of our event, and so much happening on our social media as well. We’ll be providing activities and all sorts of entertainment as we come together to beat blood cancer.

We’re delighted to be tying up with Bloodwise to raise money for a very particular research project being led by Professor Tariq Enver, which is looking into finding safer and more effective treatments for children diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. This project ‘will most probably revolutionise the way we see leukaemia today and provide new avenues for treating childhood and perhaps also adult leukaemia’, according to Bloodwise’s expert peer review panel, and so we’re really thrilled to be helping towards achieving this.

Together, we can beat blood cancer. Together, we can be unstoppable.
