In January 2005 my husband George was diagnosed with Bladder and Prostate Cancer. He had no family history of cancer and virtually no symptoms in the months leading up to his diagnosis. By time he was diagnosed the cancer had already spread throughout his body and was classed as terminal. George then began a very difficult 15 month battle to try and keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible including 2 attempts at chemotherapy, numerous operations, and in the later stages, radiotherapy. He very sadly passed away on the 7th April 2006 leaving behind 3 children, Thomas, Millie and Betsy.
It was Betsy's idea to do Race for Life and so we are joining Cancer Research UK by running the 5k race in Milton Keynes on the 28th June. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring us - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
