Aerobility Wing Walk Challenge · 24 September 2020 ·

A group Wing Walking day on the 26 October 2020 so that people can willingly strap themselves to the top of a flying aircraft for charity. Get involved to help support the British Disabled Flying charity, Aerobility.

Story

In support of this wonderful organisation, especially in these challenging times, I'm strapping myself on top of a 450hp Pratt and Whitney radial engine (in the form of a beautiful Boeing Stearman) and standing atop a wing rather than comfortably tucked in the cockpit. Facing the full force of nature directly in the...well, face, I'll be extending my airborne adventures in full vintage flamboyance across the skies of RFC Rendcomb Aerodrome, Gloucester. Please support!

Aerobility, formerly the British Disabled Flying Association, is a registered charity that believes everyone should have the right and opportunity to actively participate in aviation. We strive to remove the barriers that prevent individuals with disabilities from flying so that everyone is able to benefit from the life-changing experience. The name, Aerobility, encompasses who we are as a charity by combining our core-attributes: Aerospace and Ability. We focus on removing the barriers that our beneficiaries face on a daily basis to instil a sense of accomplishment and pride.
