Rebekah's Oxford Half Marathon/ Virtual LEJOG challenge for One-Eighty

Lands End to John O'Groats · 3 March 2021
I work for One-Eighty and I know first-hand just how much of a difference the team make to the lives of young people across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
They enable young people aged 4-18 to make changes in their lives - both in education and wellbeing. They exist for those who fall through the net and struggle to find support that’s tailored to their specific needs. Many of the young people they work with have experienced trauma, or are struggling with mental health difficulties, which prevents them from engaging with school – sometimes meaning that they don’t attend for months at a time. The team at One-Eighty are creative, persistent and hopeful... they don't give up and we celebrate the many positives and achievements every week.
I decided to take on these challenges to prove to myself that I can stick at running and demonstrate some resilience to my son... despite the fact that when he goes running with me, he WALKS about 2 paces in front of me and asks if he's going fast enough! His words of encouragement still ring in my ears as he recently said 'Mummy, you've definitely got faster... I nearly have to run next to you rather than walk!'
To thank you for donating, suggest a 'song to run to' in your donation message and I will add it to my very varied running playlist and can share a copy of this at the end of my challenge.
