In September 2019, my Dad was diagnosed with a fatal cancer called Mesothelioma. This is a cancer that develops silently for usually over 50 years and when it's found, theres usually not much that can be done to treat it.
Here we are, over 2 years later and my Dad is still fighting the battle after being told he might only live for 6 months back in September 2019.
I believe that my Dad is still here because he's so determined, courageous and full of hope, but also because of the encouragement and support from Mesothelioma UK.
Through their weekly calls, arranging gatherings with other Mesothelioma survivors and being at the end of a phone for all of our questions, this charity is determined to bring hope to what could be a hopeless situation.
Therefore, I'm going to face my biggest challenge yet and run Manchester Marathon to raise money for the amazing work that Mesothelioma UK do.
Please consider sponsoring me to support them, as without this charity, and the work that they are doing towards researching Mesothelioma treatment, the shock of my Dad having this cancer would be much worse for my family and I.
