Story
In 2011 we ran the London Marathon, 10 years later we have taken on the challenge again but this time virtually and in a slower capacity!
We want to support, raise awareness and money for Dementia UK. In February 2019, we had to say goodbye to Becca’s Grandma/ Linda’s mother-in-law (Patricia ‘Pat’ Scrase) who had suffered for a number of years with vascular dementia.
Vascular dementia is the second most common form of dementia and is caused by Transient Ischaemic Attacks (TIAs) which damages blood supply to your brain. Becca’s Grandma/ Linda’s mother-in-law, lost the ability to talk and swallow but to this day we feel she remained lucid until the end.
Becca’s Grandma/Linda’s mother-in-law had 87 years loving life, she worked for the NHS as a nurse and was a mother to 7 children. She was married for 50+ years to Becca’s Grandad and they had 15 grandchildren. We will always remember the amazing memories we shared together and the stories she used to share!
