Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I will be running the 10k London Run on 12th July 2009. I am hoping to beat my time from my debut last year and am aiming to achieve the distance in under an hour. In the process I hope to raise valuable funds for a charity close to my heart – Animal Rescue and Care.
We adopted beautiful lop bunnies, Bobbin and Casey, in June 2008 through Animal Rescue and Care (ARC), a voluntary animal welfare charity. Although they are based in Twickenham they reach a much wider area, with our bunnies being rehomed to a new life with us some 160 miles away! We are grateful for the support and kindness of ARC and the members of Rabbit Rehome Forum who made the important ‘bunny run’ possible.
Sadly, we lost Casey in September 2008 after a sudden and rapid illness. Poor Bobbin was lonely and sad. The extra attention we were giving him just couldn’t make up for the loss of his bunny companion. Thankfully a new lease of life came in the form of the young and lively Mousy in November 2008. They bonded quickly (and in a surprisingly uneventful way) and are now living very happily together, as well as providing us with an endless source of amusement!
We were delighted to be able to offer a loving ‘forever-home’ for rabbits in need and are grateful for the work and support of both Animal Rescue and Care and the wider members of the Rabbit Rehome Forum in making this possible. Without the important work they do in providing advice, raising public awareness and rehoming, many more animals would be neglected or abandoned.
So please sponsor me now!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Animal Rescue and Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
If you still in any doubt as to the good work they do you’re welcome to come and meet Bobbin and Mousy!
