Story
The Brain Tumour Charity is without doubt the charity of choice for our fundraising at the London Marathon this year.
Been diagnosed with a brain tumour, knowing it is terminal, is unimaginable. Two people we knew have had to endure such a cruel fate. Their families have been amazing, demonstrating such incredible strength and care for their loved ones.
My best friends' sister, Sally (5th September 1971 - 11th January 2019), will be forever missed by her husband, 2 young girls and all her family.
Nuno's wonderful step-mum, Rina (11th June 1958 - 10th Feb 2019), will be equally missed by her children and all her family.
We are dedicating our places at the London Marathon to these two families to show them how much we care and to raise much needed funds into Brain Tumour Research.
Running a marathon is no big deal we hear you say, you two have run loads of marathons. To make it much more of a challenge we will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon with two runners handcuffed together. Yes handcuffed! 🤔😬
Our discomfort and pain for 26.2 miles will be nothing in comparison to what Rina, Sally and their families have faced over the last year.
The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. They fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life. They are committed to having the biggest possible impact for every person affected by a brain tumour, and to defending the most amazing part of the human body.
Any donation, however small and insignificant it may seem will be extremely gratefully received. All donations go DIRECTLY to the Brain Tumour Society.
Thank-you very much indeed, Becca and Nuno xx 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻
PS Nuno says he's ordering some ear defenders for the day (I can't think why?)
