Story
Peter Poon died on March 12 after 25 years of living with Parkinson's Disease.
Towards the end of his life our family were lucky enough to be referred to St John's Hospice where all of us were able to benefit from the amazing facilities and care and support from the staff in Peter's last few days.
We hope that in some small way our efforts to raise money for the Hospice will enable other families to benefit from this wonderful facility when they need it.
Luke and Peter loved spending time together - they shared a love for chocolate, ice cream and jelly, if at all possible to be eaten at the same time.
As Peter's condition deteriorated and Luke began to grow older Luke was always keen to help Peter in any way that he could. Luke always looked out of the window to see what the weather was like to see if it was a good day to take Peter out, mournfully saying 'Not a good day for taking YeYe out' if it was raining, he learnt how to use the hoist to move Peter to and from his wheelchair, he helped to push Peter's wheelchair in Hyde Park when they went to feed the birds at the Round Pond.
The Hospice is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2014.
