Story
Well, one week on and how did it go?
Having got over the big, big hurdle of the 3.30am alarm, it was actually very pleasant to be out and about during the cool part of the day in the middle of our recent heatwave. The ladies and I met up in the library car park at 4.15 (I was the last to arrive, naturally) and ultimately set off for the walk at 5.00am.
We finished at a respectable 8.45, enjoyed a bacon butty and a cup of tea, then came the hard bit! Yes, that was standing up again afterwards... still, we staggered back to the car and it was nothing a hot bath couldn't cure, so all in all a great start to the day. Word is that the event as a whole raised around £60,000 so well worth the early morning.
Thank you so much to everyone who generously donated, both on-line and off. Farleigh is a wonderful place that we really need to cherish and support, and I know that all your donations are appreciated.
