Story
I, Roman McAlindon, have been nominated by my wife's wonderful care team to spend a night behind bars at Shrewsburys HMP. This is a fantastic charity to raise money for a very close to home charity with our son, Michael McAlindon, being a doctor for Midlands Air Ambulance Service. The more money raised the worse my punishment is whilst inside, so now it's time to dig deep.
Punishments
- By 9.30pm on 30th June every person to have hit £200 will have to spend 30 minutes in handcuffs.
- By 9 am on the 1st July our top 4 fundraisers will have to spend 3 minutes in the ‘sweat box’ (Picture attached)
- 5.30pm on the 1st July our top 3 will be placed in segregation/isolation cells and miss their free time!!
- By 10pm and before our ghost tour the top fundraiser will be placed to sleep in the most haunted cell for the evening.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Each year it costs in excess of £10 million to maintain the three aircraft and the provision of a lifesaving service. Each air ambulance mission costs an average of £2,500. Each critical care car or cardiac car mission costs £224 on average. The charity does not receive funding from the Government or National Lottery for its daily missions so relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses.
