Story
In November 2020 we lost our dear friend Charlotte to suicide. Charlotte was the true definition of a ‘pocket rocket’ - always so full of life and ready for an adventure. She was the life and soul of the party and her smile and infectious laugh would light up the whole room. Absolutely no one saw this coming and we are all still heartbroken. If only she had felt able to tell someone, even just one person. I’ve therefore chosen to raise money for Mind so we can try and prevent this happening to others. Mental health is a growing issue which has not been helped by the pandemic and Mind are a great charity to support people through these issues.
In memory of our beautiful friend a few of us will be taking part in the 24 peaks challenge in September. The challenge is to climb 24 peaks in 24 hours, all over 2,400 feet. We'll be walking 30 miles across Cumbria, plus ascending Scafell Pike, England's highest peak.
Charlotte undertook this challenge a few years ago and was the first to complete it - with absolutely no training, just pure determination not to let anyone beat her, as that’s the sort of person she was!
