Story
As a family we were left devastated by the premature death of Garry, my former husband and a wonderful, proud and caring father to our three children. Garry was diagnosed with liver cancer in July 2021 and despite his incredible positivity and courage he sadly lost his battle on 17th January this year aged only 62. So as I enter my 60th year I decided I really needed to do something out of the ordinary, something WAY WAY out of my comfort zone, to push myself to my limits so I have signed up for the Leap for Liver tandem skydive fundraiser on 2nd July 2022...and if I can raise some much needed funds for a charity that is now close to our hearts at the same time, the sheer terror and fear will at least be worthwhile!
There are over 100 types of liver condition; some are rare and others can be prevented. 20% of the population is at risk of liver disease, there are many causes people don’t know about. The British Liver Trust provides advice and information to patients and families, campaigns and works with healthcare professionals to improve early diagnosis and patient care, raises awareness of how to look after your liver and supports research. Thank you for your support, and please don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer.
