Story

I started working as a nursing assistant at St Thomas' Hospital a couple of months back. After having been a stroke patient myself, I have experienced first hand how your life can be knocked away from under you in just a split second, no matter how healthy or young you think you are.

Working in a rehabilitation unit gives me a chance to witness the resilience of the human spirit. The patients' determination to get their lives back on the road, even when some mountains seem too high to climb is as inspiring as it is emotional.

All money raised will go to my employer's charity which uses it to invest in all kinds of things, like new hospitals (they're planning a new cancer center and already build a children's hospital where Spiderman cleans the windows), it enables research being conducted which outcomes reaches far outside the UK (do you remember that dude Alex Fleming who invented the penicillin you knock back when you have in infection, he worked at Guy's).

Good care and research result in better outcomes for patients. This fundraising campaign is my way of contributing to those better outcomes and giving back to the patients that give so much to me whenever I walk through those hospital doors. I hope you will help me achieve this.

Thanks for reading. Lots of love, Rebecca.

(If you aren't able to make a donation, you can still help by spreading the word on social media etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.)
