When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As you may know, I ran the 10k in 2015 to raise money for the Stroke Association, and I'm doing the same again this year!

Across the UK, there are approximately 152,000 strokes per year, affecting people in numerous different ways. A close family friend has suffered with the disease for a lot of his life, having more strokes than any one person should ever have. He inspired me to get involved with fundraising events (including a free-fall abseil off the Manchester Velodrome and the 10k runs), to help support the work the charity does.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
