Berwick Cancer Cars is our chosen charity to run for this year as it makes such a difference to people's lives.

Having moved to the beautiful rural spot many people in need of cancer treatment do not have the means to be able to get to the hospital. This is where Berwick Cancer Cars steps in.  Through the generosity of their supporters, they can offer free transport for those with a cancer diagnosis from Berwick and the surrounding areas to attend their cancer related appointments. Their catchment area is huge and for some this service has been life saving on Holy Island.

Each year the volunteer team help hundreds of clients to reach their appointments in comfort, safety and without worry to them or their families and loved ones. Their cars making over 1000 roundtrip journeys each year, driving in excess of 100,000 miles between them. The furthest they have driven is to Basingstoke, Hampshire and to Manchester for specialist cancer treatment not offered by our local hospitals at the time.
