Story
You may remember that we participated in a challenge last year to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation in memory of Michael Jenkins-Brown, our wonderful friend and work colleague. Well unbelievably, it’s now almost 2 years since he passed away and we’re back again with a brand-new challenge!
Michael Jenkins-Brown was one of the loveliest people you could ever be lucky enough to meet. We could go on all day telling you about how wonderful he was! He was a bright, intelligent, witty, sarcastic, kind, caring, full of fun, selfie lover! He was so loved by so many!
Michael struggled with heart issues for a large period of his adult life and lost several family members to the same issues. He worked hard to keep fit and healthy but sadly passed away in July 2019.
For our new challenge, we have decided once again to celebrate one of Michael’s favourite things…The Eurovision Song Contest! Yes, you heard us right, we’re doing Michael’s Eurovision Challenge!
We will be virtually travelling to Rotterdam for this year’s contest from our home locations in the UK and using Strava to keep track of our mileage. To add to the fun, we are using the following checkpoints along the way:
· Starting in Worcester, where Michael lived
· Stopping off in Preston, Michael’s hometown
· Picking up Graham Norton in London
· Pit stops in secret locations along the way
· Finally arriving in Rotterdam
We will share updates on our progress and photos as we go along.
We would be very grateful if you could sponsor us and help us to help others in Michael’s memory. All proceeds from our efforts will again go to The British Heart Foundation. They fund lifesaving medical research to beat the world’s biggest killers. They aim to fund over £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the factors that cause them. It would be incredible if we could beat last year’s total of £2,200!
Together we can beat heartbreak forever.
