Story
Hi Everyone!
Thanks so much for visiting my page!! :D
So basically I know a few of you (myself included) think I have completely and utterly lost the plot for doing this....... But it's all for a really good cause! eeeeek!
I have been lucky enough to secure a place for the Prudential 100 mile cycle ride on August 2nd 2015. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! (or ‘yay’ as I now remember the pain from last years ride caused me to walk like a duck for two days) Haha! But clearly the pain and awful weather conditions weren't enough to put me off completely and so I’m doing it again! Whooop!
Ok, so down to the nitty gritty………..So this year I'm riding for charity, (The MS Society to be specific) all in aid of my lovely mum!
❤So what is MS…?
Well peeps…….. It's just not a very nice thing at all!!
Technically speaking on more medical terms for those of you who want to know, MS is short for Multiple Sclerosis. It is a condition of the central nervous system and to put it in a short round about way, it damages your nerves and means that your brain can't send signals throughout your body correctly and therefore causes lots of disability.
A little fact of the day for you………. There are approximately 100,000 people in the UK diagnosed with MS and at present there is no known cure! L
Soooooo.....this is why I am cycling the 100 miles for the MS Society in hope that one day these amazing people who dedicate their lives researching into finding a medicine or cure might actually be able to do so one day, hopefully in the not so distant future!.........And not only that, but to also help with funding nurses who put so much time, effort and love into caring for their patients and their families. Take a look at all the fab stuff they do! http://www.mssociety.org.uk
Now, I always find it hard to ask people for their hard earned cash, as i know every penny is precious, so therefore, i ask you to donate a pint instead, ...or a glass of wine...or a G&T, the cost of your fave drink .....(or whatever floats your boat really). Could you sacrifice one drink this weekend to help me raise some pennies for a good cause!? Trust me you will feel better for it too, and maybe it will save you from that almighty hangover! teeheehee (its ok we have all been there :P)
Anyhow, be it 50p or £5 it is all very much
appreciated!
Come Sunday the 2nd August me and my trusty boardman bike ‘Ben’ (yes…..i know what you are thinking….my bike has a name! Ha!), well....we will be there whatever the weather…..rain or shine :D
Thank you all so much & wish me luck! (feel free to come and cheer me on too!)
Lots of love
Bex
