Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hello everyone. So I just wanted to give you a little insight into what I'm doing and why.
I will be aiming to run 35 miles in October, I chose this random number over the more common marathon distance because it's my birthday this month, I'll be 35 and obviously a little bit crazy 🤷♀️🙈
I have raised money for similar charities in the past with baking or giving up chocolate but this time I really wanted to challenge myself and as I'm REALLY NOT a runner at all this will certainly be a challenge! 😬
My dad was diagnosed with early onset dementia and alzheimer's before his 60th birthday over 2 years ago. He has always been such a young, active person, walking, riding bikes, running around after the grandkids. I never really understood dementia until he was diagnosed, and like a lot of people, I thought it was just something old people have. This is true to a degree (only around 5% are diagnosed under age 65) but it's certainly not just something that comes with age!
I know how much support this charity needs, to help those with dementia and their families, but also to spread relevant and correct information about dementia as much as possible. Please donate anything you are able ❤
I'll be sharing my progress along the way tracking off my fitness watch and hoping it doesn't also show the hours it takes along with miles because that will certainly be a lot 😅
Thank you in advance for your support for this fantastic charity 🤗

Ps if you like cake I will be aiming to do a little bake day at the end of the challenge too 🍰🧁
