My 30th Birthday Challenge!
Well those of you who were kind enough to sponsor me in the Great North Run earlier this year will know I have started to become a bit of a running addict! Now this is not to be confused by the notion that I am any good at it, or find it easy, but I appear to find it therapeutic in some strange way!!!
When I was a young naive fit person (and prior to breaking my pelvis and hip I might add) I decided it would be an enormous acheivement and fun (?) To run a marathon before I was 30. Well seeing as time is nearly up I thought I better get on with it...........
So after two rejections from the London Marathon (yes you have to be LUCKY to get a place?). I am now running the Shakespeare Marathon in Stratford upon Avon on 25th April 2010. Now technically this is 5 days after my birthday but whats a few days between friends.
I am running the race (crawl) for a very personal reason and hope to raise as much money as possible to allow the Parkinson's Disease Society to continue with their much valued research and support. I appreciate money is tight and really will be grateful for any contribution.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank-you so much for all your help, support and friendship. You are welcome to come and support me on the day, should you feel the urge although, I will be banning the use of cameras and suspect I may not be able to converse after the race, I have heard its difficult through an oxygen mask!! lol
Thanks again
