Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to my Just Giving Page! In a couple of weeks me and one of my oldest friends Carol Green will be running the Great North Run in Gateshead (absolute madness!). Carol is an old pro and has run the course before but it will be my first time, and my first half marathon, infact it will be the furthest I've run ever!! 

As many of you know, and some may not, we lost my grandad Terry Conway in Febuary. I'm running in memory of him, to raise money for MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE. As anyone who knew my Grandad will attest he was a bit of a stubborn old git.....in the nicest possible way....and towards the end of his life wanted to be at home, often against the advice of the doctors. Having him at home wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Marie Curie nurses, they did and do an absolutely amazing job, not only looking after him but providing support to my mum, uncle and dad who were my Grandad's carers at that time! And we couldn't have got through that time without them. 

To have a nurse provide overnight care in someone's home costs £20 an hour, so between us me and Carol aim to raise enough money to provide 50 hours care by one of the 2000 Marie Curie nurses, and if our maths is right that's £1000. Any donation no matter how small will help us hit our target. So thank you in advance for anything you may be able to donate, it truly is greatly appreciated! 

Wish us luck....and have me in your thoughts dragging my broken body over the finish line sometime Sunday afternoon 7th September.
