I was introduced to this extraordinary charity 6 years ago and it has scarcely left my mind since. Every dripping tap, every piece of litter, every traffic jam, every piece of wasted food, every overheated building or overcrowded public space. And then the even more unpalatable waste, the unplanned or unwanted child that ends up in care or on the streets or living without clean water, food or medicine. Too many children. Too little life.
This charity represents everything we are and everything we do.
With the world population approaching 7.5 billion and increasing by 8 people per second and resources and animal species decreasing hourly, we have work to do.
I will cycle for all women to have access to contraception. For the wanted child, never the unplanned child. I will cycle for our children in the hope this planet will remain a safe place and that resources will not be starved and stripped from around them. I will cycle for living and lost endangered species. I will cycle in the hope that we will wake up to over-consumption and that our children's children will do better and teach their own children to do the same.
Thank you, thank you for any time and pennies you can give to this charity. It is so much appreciated. Bessie the road bike and I wont let you down!
