Story

In memory of my mum, Elaine Finney, I have decided to run 63 miles during September. The 17th September 2020 should have been my mum's 63rd birthday and I wanted to do something special. After completing the couch to 5k app during lockdown I was looking for my next challenge. It's definitely not going to be easy, but I'm determined to complete it.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice has supported my family during some very difficult times. We will always be grateful of the care they gave my Grandad Kenny and Mum.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a registered charity with a huge task to raise over £3.5million every year. Donations are vital to ensuring patients and those closest to them receive the care and support they need.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hospice had to close all 13 charity shops, as well as suspending online sales. They have been unable to collect door to door lottery subscriptions and have had to cancel community fundraising events. Now more than ever Wigan and Leigh Hospice need our support.

Thank you :)
