Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My paternal grandmother Nellie Margaret Metcalf died in December 2015, after a long and heartbreaking struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a beautiful, strong, charitable, quick-witted and exceptionally talented woman, and her illness and death left many people grieving her loss, including her loving husband of forty years, Henry, and her beloved son Terry.

2015 also marked the year that my lovely maternal grandmother, Georgina Warren displayed the first signs of dementia, which has since sadly progressed in the only way this illness can; by getting worse.

Alzheimer's Society is a charity that supports both the sufferers of the disease and their carers, as well as being the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention.

Please help out by sponsoring me for this charity walk, and supporting this great cause to prevent families like mine from suffering in the future.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
