This year has been the hardest, after loosing my dear mum to sepsis in October. My life has truly changed. Mum first got sepsis in 2007 after breaking her leg, since then her body always reacted badly to infections resulting in many hospital stays on IV antibiotics. In 2018 she had to undergo life changing heart surgery which was a success, that was until the dreaded infection took its hold and after nearly a year in hospital, in and out of intensive care her sternum disintegrated due to sepsis. She was promised surgery to close she sternal wound and to remove all fragments of bone left. This never happened and for the last 3 years she has bravely fought one infection after another. In October her hospital stay was like many others and we where told she was coming home on oral antibiotics the. she took a turn for the worse and went into septic shock and died on the 15th October. People do not have the right level understanding this should of been caught and could of been prevented. More needs to be done to raise awareness and help educate!  I now make this my mission. Please help me raise some money for a charity that absolutely has that agenda, for my mum and so many others that have lost their battle.
