Story
First cancer took my dad, then my stepdad, and now my lovely mummy is fighting it. Cancer is the cruellest thief; it takes loved ones and it changes lives. And it is not discerning of its victims - my neighbour died from it, a school mum friend has it, another friend is in remission - everyone knows someone fighting it. I’m sure you know someone too…
This time I’m running an ultra marathon (52.4 miles) ‘Race to the Tower’ raising money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Cancer centre because it has provided chemo and radiotherapy for my loved ones and more recently immunotherapy. The nurses all smile and chat and put a little sunshine in the day and the charity fundraises for machines and research and innovative drugs to fight this monster.
So if you know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease please feel free to put their name in with your donation. Help this charity to make cancer curable in the long term and extend life in the short. We’re all in this together xxx
