Story
"My amazing family have started a just giving page for me to raise awareness and donate to Blood Cancer UK. On 14/01/2021 I was diagnosed with Acute-Myeloid Leukaemia and have been in hospital since. This came as such a big shock to me and my family as we didn't know the warning signs. My first symptom was a persistent chest infection which started in December, I had two bouts of antibiotics for this and it wouldn't clear - with this I experienced other symptoms such as tiredness, breathlessness and night sweats which I just thought was part of having a chest infection. My second symptom was my menstrual cycle and a heavier period than normal which caused me to faint a few times. My most obvious symptom was how pale and dizzy I was constantly. When I came to the hospital, I thought they were going to tell me I was anaemic and send me home, never would I have thought I would end up here and in this situation. It's so important to raise awareness about this as so many people don't know the symptoms of Blood Cancers and could end up in a situation like me - shocked and scared. It's only the beginning of my fight but I am giving it my all and have the best and strongest team backing me all the way which I am so grateful for. Please donate whatever you can to raise awareness on blood cancer, thank you xxx "
Hi everyone,
We are running 50k this February for our lovely cousin Niamh who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Being only 22 years old, this came as a complete shock to both her and her family. We want to do everything we can in order to support her and bring awareness to this illness. All proceeds to this page will be donated to Blood Cancer UK, we are extremely grateful for your support. Also, we cannot stress how important it is to give blood as we have seen first hand, the difference this can make. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. A like or a share can make a difference too.
Our Niamh is ambitious, kind and courageous. She has a heart of gold. Please help us raise awareness.
