Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know by now, sadly my Mum's breast cancer has returned for the third time and has now spread further and the prognosis is not terribly optimistic (the photograph above was taken at my parents 40th wedding anniversary celebrations shortly before we heard the devastating news).
My mum is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and I am immensely proud of her and my father who are both being extremely brave, positive, upbeat and stoic. We are all supporting each other and there is lots of love going around!
My sister Georgina and I have taken the news hard, and being rather emotional girls, we are a bit up and down! Therefore, we thought it was important to channel our energies into something positive. I have started to give blood but also wanted to raise some money, anything to help fight this awfully cruel disease.
I recently went to a Breast Cancer Christmas Concert at St. Pauls Cathedral in London with my dad and saw an advertisement for Breast Cancer Care walks around the country. I decided on Blenheim Palace as with Georgina in Berkhamsted, near Hemel Hempstead and me in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, the location was perfect.
We are doing a 10 mile walk there on 22nd May 2010 and are very excited about it! Mum is planning on coming to wave us off and no doubt take lots of photographs! Sis and I plan to start our 'training' (I'm practising doing some walks with my dad, the best walker I know!) and if we enjoy the 10 mile walk this year, maybe we can tackle the 20 one another year!
I would be so grateful for any sponsorships, however small (or large!). It is going to such a good cause and you would also please my mum! (such bribery!).
Thank you to so many of you who are helping me through this difficult time, and for sponsoring me.
Love Rebecca x
