Story
As many of you know, in August 2022 my uncle Nick very sadly took his own life. Having battled many years with mental health problems he felt there was no other way to be at peace. Receiving the news absolutely broke us as a family. Life will never be the same without his warm presence. He was such a loved man with so many amazing friends around him and he was so very talented at his work, i just wish he recognised his gifted qualities more.
Since my Uncle Nicks passing I’ve had a surge of motivation to achieve something in his honour, to raise money and increase awareness for mental health and to ensure his story isn’t forgotten. For years I’ve wanted to challenge myself physically by running a distance I’ve never previously achieved, and now feels like the perfect time to do so. So, on behalf of the Mind Charity, myself and my best friend Saff will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in Nicks honour on the 2nd April 2023. My Uncle thought the world of Saff so it’ll be so special running every step with her by my side.
We’ve never ran anywhere near this distance so this really will test us.
Any donations to the Mind Charity would be so greatly appreciated by the both of us. Ideally we would love to raise 1300- a £100 per mile!
Running every step of the way for you N❤️
