Marc's walk is a 20 mile walk in memory of Marc Nieuwburg who is the son of one of my work colleagues.

All proceeds go to the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey appeal which aims to build a specialist unit for teenagers with cancer in Southampton General Hospital.  Once complete, the unit will ensure that for the first time, young cancer patients living in Hampshire, Dorset and across the Channel Islands, will be treated with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.

The appeal is very close to my heart as I remember meeting young cancer sufferers on the same ward as my father in Southampton.
