Story

I am running the London Marathon for the ninth time, and my fifteenth marathon, to support the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust, who provide funds to support midwives and student midwives to deliver the best possible care. Iolanthe funds training and professional development for student and qualified midwives; supports midwifery research projects, and provides grants to improve women's experience of midwifery care.  Whether I was in hospital or at home, I've been so grateful for the calm and professional care provided by midwives when I gave birth to my three daughters, and there is no end to my admiration for my friends who have trained or retrained as midwives, and their dedication to providing the best possible care for mothers and babies, often in very challenging circumstances. Any amount you can spare towards my fundraising target would be hugely appreciated.
