Story
Cats Protection is a charity so close to home and that I have supported for years. With a house full of rescue kitties, cats are my world and I can’t bear the thought of one of them being cold, or hungry, or in pain. My other half won’t let me take in any more right now (apparently 4 is enough!), but Cats Protection will always be there for them, and so I want to support them any way I can.
In October 2021 I ran my first ever marathon for Team Cats - the London Marathon. Man it hurt, but the first thing I did after I finished (other than eat A LOT of cake) was ask Team Cats if I could do it again. In fact, I decided to do more than that… I decided I wanted to do 4 marathons in back to back seasons, so - 4 in 18 months. A lot of people said it couldn’t be done, that my job was to much to work around and that it was just too hard, but I wanted to really justify asking people for their support and sponsorship. So….
After doing in London in October 2021 I trained for and ran the Manchester Marathon on 3 April 2022. I then trained all over again to run the London Marathon in October 2022. The third one really hurt, the training felt so hard, but after 8 weeks break over Christmas I knuckled down and started training for London Marathon 2023. That race will complete my epic ‘tail’ of four marathons.
Please do support me if you can. The picture is of my oldest rescue cat Boo - 12, and she has had a hard life. She is asthamatic and has daily meds, but she is so happy now and she would love you to help other cats like her find their very own teddy.
