Nico Anelli is a 23 year old cyclist from Scotland. It is a chronic illness that stays with you for life, it comes in flares and remissions which can have a severe impact on your life and ability to do things. Nico has suffered from many symptoms including; severe weight loss, anemia, nutritional deficencies and joint pain. In 2019 Nico founded Real Guts Racing, a cycling team centered around the concept of raising awareness and proving what is possible while competitng with IBD.

The hour record is a prestigious event in cycling, aiming to set the greatest distance travelled in the span of one hour. Nico aims to set a new Scottish record by riding in excess of 46.650km.

He, his team and all the sponsors onboard are on a mission to show just what can be done and tell the story.

The event will be open to spectators and will be livestreamed to the global IBD community.
