Story

My son Joshy Leech died on 10th January this year aged just 18. He was my superhero. He fought every day of his life and I feel blessed to have been taught by my son what's important in life. Blythe House supported us over his final few weeks and Joshy was able to die at home surrounded by love, me, his dad and his two brothers. No health professionals just calmness and love. Please help me to raise as much money as possible in Joshys name. I want his name to live on forever and this is my first step towards this.

Because Joshy needed 24 hours care a day we spent most of the past 18 years housebound and so this will be a physical challenge for me!

Blythe House is a truly remarkable place filled with love and passion to support people. I'm fortunate to work at Blythe house leading the children's counselling service working alongside a team of inspiring caring people. Life limiting illness and death can be frightening and isolating. Let's break the taboo. Blythe house Hospice relies on fundraising to keep going. Please help me to make a difference in Joshy Leechs name.

Blythe House Hospice provides care and support for patients, families and carers across the High Peak community who are affected by cancer or a life-limiting illness. The care and support Blythe House provides remains completely free of charge. By taking part in the Glow Twilight Walk, I am supporting Blythe House Hospice to continue to provide this much needed care. By sponsoring me you could contribute to the following:£50 would pay for three hours Hospice at Home care for someone in their last weeks of life.£100 would pay for half a days physiotherapy for a patient struggling with mobility as a result of their illness.£150 would pay for 5 counselling sessions for a bereaved child at one of the hardest times of their life.£450 would pay for three nights of care for a patient at the end of their life who wants to remain in their own home.
