Story
You've come to this page for probably one of two reasons; either you know Al or you've been guilt-tripped into donating to cancer research by me. For those of you who know Al through work then I thank and salute you, research into cancer is on-going and always a good cause. For those of you who simply know Al will understand that for someone like Al to get cancer is to understand just how indiscriminate cancer is; he doesn't drink or smoke, or take drugs, or kick puppies or push old ladies into the road. Al has had two encounters with cancer before and psychologically beat it. Over 20 years later it's back. 'In remission' now has definition. This page was set up by me as a follow-on from the 'movember' thing, and after asking Al and Lorraine what their most worthy charity was I decided to not just talk about it but do it. To all of those who have grown facial hair for a cause then I say fair play. My decision to not shave on one side of my face was probably not the best decision I've ever made, but the way I see it is I'm not undergoing chemotherapy and about to lose pretty much all my hair, so half a face fuzz is a small token as a talking point to tell my story and let people leave a message for Al and Lorraine and their two sons Josh and Benjamin to see. Al sleeps a fair bit because of the drugs he now HAS to take so you might not always get hold of him by phone, leave a message and I'm sure he'll see it. Write whatever you like, donate whatever you like, cheers, Ray.
