Story
Due to the impact of COVID19, both charities are in urgent need of support. This global pandemic has not only put pressure on us here but also on those forgotten in the refugee camps.
Ethar relief is one of the very few organisations providing aid to Eritrean refugees in the refugee camps of Sudan, Djibouti and Yemen, and Al Muwassat is a UK based charity which takes care of Eritrean Muslim burials. Both charities need our support now more than ever!
The global pandemic has already reached Sudan, Yemen, and Djibouti. Ethar Relief operates on the ground already, distributing aid and medical care to the needy. This time, our response is unlike any other emergency. This appeal is extremely time sensitive as the situation escalates rapidly. We must act before the virus hits the camps – afterwards will be too late.
and Al Muwassat is a UK based charity that bears the complete cost of an Eritrean Muslim burial process to complete the process in the fastest time possible in accordance to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).
They are currently urgently appealing to finish building their Maghsala, this will reduce the cost of external services by £1000! In the long term they hope to purchase land which will reduce the costs of a funeral from £4250 to £300!
This is our chance to help support and carry the vision of the elders in our community. We are not just ‘giving back’ here - we are securing our future, as we will all inevitably one day have to turn to Al-Muwassat for their services.
