Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who don't know me I'm currently on a gap year and while working in London for the next few months I thought entering a race would be a good way to get fit.
A few days into my training I found that that wasn't motivation enough. I wanted to do something that isn't only going to make a difference to my wellbeing but may have the potential to change someones life. And that's how I became a part of Team Amnesty.
At the risk of sounding like a cliche, I have really experienced the kindness and generosity of strangers. My travels have taught me that it's the small things that can make all the difference and while I have had the good grace to have a prosperous life I know that there are many who can only dream of freedom.
Now it's time to challange and inspire myself and those around me to help a worthy cause. I'm running 10km this summer and hope to raise money and awareness to release three of Burma's 2000+ Political Prisoners.
Khun Bedu, Khun Kawario and Khun Dee De have been interrogated, tortured and sentenced- without trial, judge or defence. Khun Kawrio and Khun Bedu are sentenced to 37 years and Khun Dee De to 35 years, all for a peaceful protest in which they released balloons and launched paper boats.
