Story
Hello, Rasheed here.
As you may know, from 14 - 22 November, I walked the entire length of the Thames Path - a 184 mile national trail which follows the river from its source in a field near Cirencester, passing through Oxford, Reading, Windsor and into London, finishing at the Thames Barrier in Woolwich.
Why I chose to do this in November with its short days, cold nights, excessive mud and heavy fog I'll never know. What I do know is that I only experienced light rain on three short afternoons and for that I am eternally grateful. I did it rather quickly - just 9 days, as opposed to the recommended average of 12 - 14. I am paying the price for it now, I can tell you.
Sponsor me?
If you would like to sponsor me retrospectively, you will be supporting the British Red Cross - always the first to respond in an emergency, like last year's floods in Cumbria or this year's floods in Pakistan.
My target reflects the amount it cost me in total to complete the walk (train fares, B&Bs and umpteen plates of sausage and chips).
Stuck for a figure? How about one of these:
5p per mile: £9.20
10p per mile: £18.40
20p per mile: £36.80
50p per mile: £92.00
But of course anything you can give would be most excellent.
Thank you!
