Story
RASAC (An acronym which stands for "Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre") is a Winchester-based charity that provides counselling for people of all genders and ages, who have suffered the atrocity of being sexually abused at some point in their lives. About 25% of the people they help have experienced rape, assault or abuse recently or fairly recently. The other 75% of the people they work with are adults who were sexually abused as children. RASAC helps all of these more than brave and strong people, who have taken the step to come forward to ask for help, in most cases after years -or even decades- of suffocating physiological imprisonment, to understand the impact their awful experiences have had in their present selves, and provides "survivors" with the strategies and coping mechanisms they need to recover and regain control of their future and their lives.
The Friends of RASAC are a group of volunteers who fundraise for the charity and running the Clarendon Marathon is one of their first challenges. Please support these increduble people in order to help those that have suffered from sexual abuse.
