Story
'Go for a run' they said, 'it'll be fun' they said!
Not sure fun is the right word for it, but, there is a lot of satisfaction that comes from hitting a new milestone - for me most recently it was a half marathon (2nd Feb etched in my brain forever).
Learning all the terms, jeffing, fartlek (nothing remotely rude), yasso 800's, VO2 max (eh?!) All good fun...
Reading a lot on runners, by runners, for runners, trying and failing, and trying again. Buying kit, failing, buying different kit, working, buying lots of said kit so there will be no further issues!
It's been a long journey and I am only half way there. My aim is to finish in the course allowance. I would love to run a lot of it, but I have to be realistic. I'll run until I cannot, then I will run more, and then eventually I will crawl across that line, get that medal and then I believe there'll be a crying jag.
I visualise the finish - not the crying jag, but crossing that line - that helps, because it is a really long way, it is the biggest thing I have ever done, and I am doing it for an amazing charity who deserve all the help they can get.
Thanks for visiting, thanks in advance for any donations - you're awesome - don't let anybody tell you any different.

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. We depend on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver the wide range of services that we offer. #TeamSands
