Ralph was admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in February 2019 at 7 weeks old and diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that affects 1 in 1.2 million children; Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (Primary HLH). Ralph’s stay at the hospital has been prolonged due to many complications and delays along the way, and months later we are still inpatients even now.
We know from our stay here that the hospital relies heavily on donations, not just for life saving equipment, but monitoring equipment for important day-to-day care and funding research into advancements in new treatment protocols.
We owe so much to the great teams of medical professionals at GOSH, for saving our precious Ralph’s life on more than one occasion and seeing him through a very complicated bone marrow transplant. For this reason Ralph’s daddy, Will, and his brothers, Elliott and Ben will be running (...), jogging and walking 100km (62 miles) along the Thames Path, to raise much needed funds for the hospital to carry on the important and pioneering work that it does, saving children’s lives every day.
The challenge is required to be completed within 48 hours, but Will, Elliott and Ben are aiming to complete it in 12!
