Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On 23rd September 2006 I had a bad accident while surfing at my home beach of Croyde Bay. I broke my neck and was lucky to survive and escape without serious spinal injury. Thanks to the surgeons who operated on me and the physiotherapists who have treated me, I am now able to surf again. I am acutely aware of how lucky I am to not be paralysed and to be able to continue an active life.
I now feel duty bound to help in some way others who have limited mobility and who are less fortunate then me. As I know Dave Constantine, who I believe started this charity, Motivation was a natural choice for me to 'do my bit'.
I am going to enter the paddle board race again this year and am asking people to sponsor me for the event. For those who don't know about this event its a 2.5km paddle from Saunton beach around the Point and onto Croyde beach as part of the
Goldcoast Oceanfest festival 2010. In 2008 we raised over £1000 from the sponsored paddle - thanks to all those who gave me support and encouragement!
I will be playing on stage at the Oceanfest this year too - catch the
Universe Inspectors Live on Friday 18th June and wish me luck with the big boy paddle on the Sunday 20th June.
Whatever amount you can give will help me to help a noble cause. Thank you very much for your donation.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Motivation Charitable Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
