Story
On Friday 8th February 2013 at the age of 42 my brother-in-law Nick Gascoigne tragically died. He led a tortured life suffering from mental health issues for much of his adult life, coupled with this he also fought an on-going battle with alcoholism. Unfortunately his demons got the better of him – he is finally at rest.
The charity Rethink provided support, friendship and understanding to Nick when he needed it. As well as receiving help he himself actively did much work for Rethink by running a music group in order to share his love of music.
I am raising money for Rethink in order to give something back so that the loss of another precious life may be avoided, from now on all of my running will be dedicated to Nick’s memory. Over this year I will be running several events starting with the Derby 10K on 28 April 2013 and ending in two half-marathons, the Great North Run on 15 September 2013 and the Birmingham half on the 20 October 2013.
